HERE AND NOW: Frequenzstörungen bei zwei Kamerahänden
Zwei künstliche Hände schweben über den Köpfen der Besucher und nehmen mit Funkkameras den Raum unter sich ins Visier. Dabei folgen sie eigentümlichen Bewegungen. Statt der erwarteten projizierten Abbildung des Raumes fiept, blinkt und rauscht ein grellbuntes verzerrtes Bild über die Wand. Bucht die Übertragung der aufgenommenen Realität steht im Vordergrund, sondern die Quelle des Bildes und damit der Apparat der Kamera. Die Installation übersetzt das maschinell vor Ort erzeugte Bild durch bewusst erzeugte Störungen in ein abstrakt wahrnehmbares Bild-Tongefüge.

Die Arbeit wurde im HeK Haus der elektronischen Künste in der Ausstellung «Digitale Abstraktionen» (2016) gezeigt, die im Kontext des gleichnamigen Studienprojekts in Kooperation von xcult.org, der Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel (FHNW) und dem HeK Basel realsiert wurde. HERE AND NOW: Frequency interference with two camera hands

Two artificial hands hover above the visitors' heads and aim for the space below them with wireless cameras. In the process, they follow strange movements. Instead of the expected projected image of the room, a garishly colored distorted image beeps, flashes and rushes across the wall. The focus is not on the transmission of the recorded reality, but on the source of the image and thus the apparatus of the camera. The installation translates the machine-generated image on-site into an abstractly perceptible image-sound structure through deliberately created disturbances.

The work was exhibited at the HeK House of Electronic Arts as part of the exhibition “Digital Abstractions” (2016), which was organized in the context of the study project of the same name in collaboration with xcult.org, the Basel University of Art and Design (FHNW), and the HeK Basel.
